Part L1 & SAP Calculations :: Domestic Dwellings

The European Energy Performance in Buildings Directive is being amended. In April 2006 the new Part L energy regulations will come into force with immediate affect.

For dwellings the SAP 2005 will replace SAP 2001 with the more relaxed Target U-value and Elemental Methods becoming redundant.

Ce2 are geared up to undertake all domestic and non-domestic Part L requirements both under current legislation and the amended 2006.

SAP is the current ‘Energy Audit’ process (Standard Assessment Procedure)

What is a SAP Rating?

It is being retained alongside the new building regulations.

part l and SAP are separate but related pieces of legislation

SAP is also being revised in 2005 to align it with Part L

SAP scores a building for Energy Efficiency between 1 and 120

Example SAP 2005 building Energy Certificate

A version of the SAP score will be used within the EPBD and therefore as a certificate with the Home Sellers Information Packs (2007)

  • SAP focuses on Energy Efficiency
  • Part L focuses on Carbon Emissions

part l revolutionises building regulations for domestic properties by laying down energy conservation standards to which all new build houses or apartment projects must adhere.

Ce2 regularly perform Part L compliancy documentation for domestic dwellings including the submission of Standard Assessment Procedure or SAP Rating calculations to Building Control.

Whether it be a new housing development or apartment complex, no matter how small or large, we can comprehensively undertake all your Part L and SAP Calculation requirements.

Please don't hesitate to contact Dan Watt for advice or any information on what's involved.
